DIGIMAT-FEDIGIMAT-FE

Version 3.1.2 - October 2008
DIGIMAT-FE is the homogenization software based on the nonlinear Finite Element modeling of realistic Representative Volume Element (RVE) of complex material microstructure.
Product DescriptionProduct Description
DIGIMAT-FE allows to describe the microstructure of your composite as well as the material properties of its constituents in order to generate the FE model of the composite’s RVE.

DIGIMAT-FE uses Abaqus/CAE to generate the RVE mesh and the actual finite element model that is then solved with Abaqus/Standard. Model post processing is then done in Abaqus/CAE and DIGIMAT.

Key FeaturesKey Features
  • Definition of multi-phase composite microstructures made of: spheroids, platelets, ellipsoids, cylinders, prisms, polyhedrons made of 20 faces (icosahedrons), any shape defined in a geometry file
  • Definition of inclusion phases involving : volume or mass content, inclusion size or number of inclusion used to generate the RVE, size distribution, fixed, random or orientation defined by an orientation tensor, clustering, coating
  • Strain based and mixed (strain/stress) loading definition
  • Export of RVE geometry in .STEP, .IGES, .BREP formats
  • Interface to ABAQUS/CAE allows:
            - automatic import of the RVE geometry, per phase material properties and boundary               conditions
            - automatic meshing and job creation
            - post-processing of per-phase fields (stress, strain, …)
