Thermal conductivity properties for Material Engineering applications
Material engineering applications involving thermal material properties rely on two tools: Digimat-MF and Digimat-FE.
Digimat-MF to simulate thermal conductivity performances of composite materials
For all types of composite material, the thermal conductivity of the composite is computed by Digimat-MF by using the Mean-Field homogenization technique. Thanks to its ease of use, Digimat-MF constitutes as a virtual laboratory where a large number of materials can be tested in a very short period of time. The design of a composite material can then be optimized to reach specific targets.
Digimat-FE to simulate thermal conductivity performances of composite materials
A more in-depth analysis of the behavior of a composite can be performed in Digimat-FE. In this tool, thermal properties and percolation can be investigated. For instance, the effect of the amount of inclusions on the percolation can be studied in a fast and easy way. Percolation paths are tracked and displayed.
